Ant's brief review on playable Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood game demonstration/demo. for Windows.

Blue's News mentioned a playable Call of Juarez game demonstration/demo. that is a sequel ("Bound in Blood") to the first/original game. Ant downloaded and checked it tonight for almost 30 minutes (short demo) to review.

It is a short scripted/linear (not many places to explore like in Call of Duty series) western theme first person shooter (FPS) game. Some of the scenes reminded me of old LucasArts' Outlaws game with its sense of humor (e.g., "Bwok! Bwok! Bwok! Hey Sheriff, what are you, cheeken?") from the late 1990s/90s. Player is not alone has an computer player to help out. The player's character walk (no run?), ducks, shoots (love the shotgun/rifle!), briefly explore, etc. There are also concentration (limited slow motion shootings) and duel (timing with mouse movements and clickings to draw gun and shoot) features which are somewhat confusing at first (died a few times), but different. Graphics and audio were nice. Gameplay wasn't too bad even though it was way more linear and scripted than the first game. Multiplayer was not available either in the demo. :(

Ant won't be getting the full game though unless it gets very good reviews.
