During that day, I just woke up (if I remember correctly (IIRC), 8/9 AM pacific daylight timezone (PDT) since I was unemployed from the dotcom bust) and came to my Windows computer with Internet. I saw my friends chatting in an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) room something about a plane crash.

Your sensitive and weak overlord hates being sick even from allergies. No work today due to leaky nose, itchy body, sneezings, etc. Dang winds! Oh and dang heat wave (wished to be at work with free air condition (AC))!

For yesterday's team bond event, your worker ant's employer's awesome department paid (14 bucks (wow!); No marketing relationship and cameos, but the company should do it for future Transformers movies like Norton AntiBot to fight off malwares (remember the first movie with its computer security breaches and firewalls?) and took its teams (16 people in total who wanted to see it) to see the third movie, "Dark of the Moon", in RealD's 3D format and the local Rave Motion Pictures 18 movie theater. Since the movie was about a month old, it wasn't crowded (no need for reserved seats if it was still around in that theater). The theater was about half full. Ugh, 3D again. Annoying glasses over the regular eye glasses, itching the skin, and can't see 3D effects with both old compound eyes. :(

... Why change when they work fine, and cost too much money and time to keep up? Your overlord still uses a 20" cathrode ray tube (CRT) television/TV/telly from 1996, video casette recorder (VCR) from the dotcom days, a CASIO Data Bank 150 calculator watch (second purchase), same Debian installation from 2005, Windows XP Pro.

Your busy overlord is a couple days behind too. :(

According to LinuxGames, Quake recently hit its 15 years. Wow. Your old insect overlord remembers playing the first Quake game test (qtest) briefly in a small computer lab in his university on a Sunday night.

All I could do was use login, FTP, download/upload into temporary directory, and use ZMODMEM (sz and rz commands -- I still use them today on Linux boxes) to download/upload from my dial-up modems.

Darn, I didn't break my record for May 2011... I have only sent about 5,565 non-bounced personal/private e-mails + public usenet/newsgroups posts sent for May 2011 (31 whole days too). That includes resent/reposted/duplicate and excluding (blind) carbon copies ((B)CCs)) and bounces.

Your worker ant's annual major summer work project (2012) is done for the fall/autumn 2011 releases (you better buy them, so the overlord can be richer even if you don't use them and Windows :P) as of Saturday evening PDT! Aww yeah.

Your old overlord has a personal story that happened in life. Back as a public high school teenage student, this insect got pooped a little by a bird under a tree during lunch.
