... are lame! Your overlord just discovered that with the work's new Lenovo ThinkCentre M81 (1730-A45) desktop computer at work and neighbor colleagues heard the audio when the headphones' extension cord cable was lose. DOH! :(

Its support tells how to disable/disconnect it physically. Um, no thanks. However, your overlord used an old broken headphone and connected in the rear's audio jack and kept using the front one. Tests passed. :D
