Too many close deaths these days.

ant's picture

... Wow, your overlord found out that the king's and queen's church friends' husband passed away on Monday due to his cancer. Sheesh, too many deaths these days including the possible upcoming grandking's that could be any day. Ugh(l(y/ee) at life. :~(

Also, with nature!

Two black crows on the dangerous local streets. One flying low almost hit your overlord's carpooling driver's moving sport utility vehicle (SUV) and another one was walking on the street.

Near the overlord's nest, there is a big bee hive. They will need to be removed (death?). :(

In a few days, grandking? :~(

:~(

Rest in peace (RIP) to overlord's final grand(king/male delate) ant (about 87 (not a bunch of lucky number eights? :P) years old! -- a good run even after recovering from a stroke) as of 1:45 AM PDT. Your overlord saw him yesterday in the crowded nursing home's very warm shared room. One of the visiting far away cousins and aunt, parents, and his last surviving grand(ma/queen) came too. He was almost dead since he was breathing heavily like every 10/15 seconds with a machine connected to his nostrils with a tube, his buried f(ee/oo)t twitched under his blanket once every other minute, moaning once in a while, etc. Wearing gloves was sweaty due to the warm shared room like at homes. It was pretty :( and eerie to see in person since it was your overlord's (fir/1)st time seeing an almost dead person before in real life (IRL) and close up. He is with God in Heaven now as one of Lord's believers. Hopefully, everyone will be joining them too including this insect. One living grandparent is left for your old insect. :(

Your overlord also had to spend a lot of $ again (almost 800 bucks total in cost with two appointments in over two/couple months) on the other dentist specialist far away in the crowded city before seeing the family members. That didn't help too. What a (b/s)ad day. :~(

Also, Mousey's two relatives passed away this week. This month (Halloween isn't helping!) and year (13 = a bad number!) sucks. Things are too (craz/death)y these days. :(

It is ironic...

... that both recently old grandparents finally passed away on Saturday mornings. Your overlord wonders if this is a pattern now. :/

Also, your overlord's parents are going to the same funeral for their old church's friend's wife and then maybe meet an agent to finish up the plans. It would be a good preview for them. God must be doing His work nicely. Thanks God! :)

At Costco ...

... Oops, your forgetful insect forgot to mention this last week! On Friday night after visiting the dying grand(pa/male delate/king) and spending time with family members, parents and your :( tired overlord went to a local Costco warehouse store. On the way out, there was a section with partial caskets' corners. Weird and spooky. It must have been a sign of the upcoming death. :~(

Part #1 is done...

... with mostly family and pastor's family (~20 people). It was :(, but not enough to cry hard/sob that your :( insect could see. Maybe tomorrow that will happen. There were lots of children/kids (one was so loud/noisy, but they all made your overlord's grandqueen feel (bett/happi)er though). Sheesh! In his brown casket, grand(king/pa/male delate) had his two/2 hands over his old black Bible for being a believer in God. There were long waits for people to show up, two sung hymns, pastor's preachings, flashbacks/memories (e.g., big backyards with nature stuff like fishes in his pond -- hence how your overlord got into nature stuff like keeping fishes, catching and keeping cra(w/y)fishes, etc. [not ants though]), almost 70 years of marriage, picture takings, eating out for dinner, etc.

On to the next day's part 2, with about 100? (dang!) people, to finish these two/2 days long events! :(

Part #2 is done!

Yep, this was a :(er (still no major cryings and sobbings) day. It was longer (7.5 hours compared to 5/five hours -- offline for too long!), bigger, crazier, and more fancier(?) than the one back in March. There were services in Rose Hills' Memorial Chapel (BUSY schedule since there were services before and after so people had to move fast to arrive, set up, finish/complete, and leave within two/2 hours!) 1:00 PM PST start, about a hundred/100 people (had to stand up in front of them during cousins speech part [mic(rophone)s problems?] and o(uch/w) insect's right hand got tired from all the hand shakings during the long queued line) including many Chinese church members and its senior choir singings (nice!) from two big church vans, etc. Ugh, your worried insect almost lost eye glasses case that fell out of the pocket while sitting down on the pews due to smooth big pockets and cases!

Outdoor (not that warm as predicted with 80F degrees, whew) on a slope hill (very old people had problems climbing up and down!), it was interesting to watch cemetry people lower and bury the grand(male delate/pa/king)'s closed and locked heavy casket get automatically slowly (with a simple electrical screw driver?) lowered buried and without :( watchers having to turn their backs around to listen/hear (it was interesting to observe!), people got to use manually shovel to dump small fresh dirt (was a true worker ant!), a cemetry person use a loud excavator finish the rest, see the fresh grave site patch, went out for an early seafood buffet dinner (well, a very late lunch for the hungry insect since ate breakfast late but will probably skip the third meal due to tiredness!), etc. Ugh, crazy life. It will happen in the future (probably the last very old lonely grandparent [she was very :( during the meal]!).

The good news was seeing old parents' church friends that your old overlord hasn't seen for many years, including the wife whose husband passed away a few weeks ago and mentioned in a blog. She got <3ing hugs from this insect. :~( Most relatives/family members were seen recently like a few weeks ago and over a year ago, so it wasn't too bad even though children/kids are growing up fast compared to adults (flashbacks to callow Ant's days).

It's almost time to go back to work for most people. Your overlord wished it was on a weekend and could rest longer (maybe this Friday since it was planned over a month ago).

Ugh(l(ee/y)...

Dang! Your old insect is still tired even after passing out after 10:05 PM PST, waking up twice at 12:32 AM PST to use the restroom, 6:05 AM PST alarm, and then finally waking up before 6:40 KB (err AM PST :P). Today is a rest and catching up day. :( Also, your hungry anty didn't eat a third meal yesterday due to being super tired! Frak hunger to lose weight!

Back to normal, but today seems a good day so far...

Your still :( worker ant finally came back to work and got some goodies: a free yearly planned flu shot (from work), a huge heavy glass vase of yellow big flowers and a check (nice Disney's Twinker Bell design)
due to the recent grand(king/male delate/pa)'s death, a card with fish drawings (same types that he had in his small backyard's pond), and an Olive Garden's $25 gift card (unexpected) from your grumpy overlord's online complaint from a few weeks ago about the hard uncomfortable chairs, etc. So far, today is a good one? :)

OK, back to work and finish going through almost new/unread 300 e-mails and work. That's not good. :P

Nope.

That didn't last long. Work piled up, still have not eaten lunch, and Chicken ruined the day. Thanks God tomorrow is a day off so TGIT (Thanks God, It's Thursday)! :(

Ah, time to rest for the long weekend...

Thanksgiving 2013...

... Your old overlord, the king, and queen, went back to the local cemetery. It took a while to find the grave due to the tiny and almost buried number labels. It took about ten/10 minutes to find by looking for its lot number. After finally finding it, it had fresh green grasses, planted flowers (one set was dying), and even a few pennies already. On the driving way to there and out, there were funny scenes on tops of two far away different graves: a big plastic turkey and a live Mariachi band.

And then, it was time to visit the remaining grandparent and uncle. It was weird, madness/pissy (always like this), and :(. Next stops for Christmas and Chinese/Lunar New Year without the grandking. [sighs] It was a :( day. At least we are thanksful that grandking is in Heaven with God, etc.

Also, king ant jacked up his knees from old ages and playing too much sports in his life especially tennis. So, he used overlord's grand(king)'s canes and crutches.

Another death again!

Sheesh, 2013 is still not over (4/four days left) and yet another close death. This time it was someone from work whom this worker ant used to work with (a product/project manager years ago). She had medical leaves in the past with health issues. Your very :( worker ant found from a forwarded work e-mail that she passed away on Christmas 2013 from one of the former supervisor/current neighbor. Sheesh, way too many deaths this year. :~( At least, she's with God as a believer. :)
