Ant briefly played it earlier...

Pokémon Go was an interesting mobile app(lication) game, but it was nothing special. Ant tried it without location tracking on the work's test SIMless Samsung Galaxy S6 edge (Android v6.0.1), but it failed with a blank map and a red banner error message (no global position system (GPS)). The game seemed buggy too since it crashed or acted weird a few times. As a newbie and in its short tutorial, three/3 Pokémon characters showed up near by. Ant had to cross the sloped backyard's dry drainage to almost (fall/tripp)ing, (find/search)ing, and capturing it. After that, there were none near by. And then, Ant quit the game by killing the app (not quit option?) to stop being tracked. Maybe it will be played later on to go far away and catch all of them? :P

Ant would rather be playing foraging for bugs, returning to work's nest, get paid, etc. :P

No go for Sun(day)!

Ant went outside far away and tried the game, but no luck from after 11 AM PDT to almost 3 PM PDT. :(

Same for Mon(day)!

During the late mawning hours during the commutes. Bah. Ant will just stick to real life hunting like bugs (digital and physical), etc. :P

OK, no need to go far to see what virtual creatures exist.

Thanks to this MacWorld article for online maps of (submitt/report)ed sightings.

Finally, the server is back up to retry!

On the almost weekly outing with the colony and getting the almost (every ~28 days) monthly haircut, this curious sweaty and hotty anty tried the mobile game again. The server was actually up this time and was easiy to log in. Nothing at the haircutter's house. And then to a local Buca di Beppo restaurANT.

Finally, there was a good spot to catch them all. OK, three of them to be exactly without going outside in the humid hot weather. And lots more near by too as shown in these screen (shot/capture)s, but meh. On the way to the manual car wash, there were many more. However, the game app kept crashing hogging battery power a lot. :( It was interesting to watch all these virtual stuff appear everywhere. Ant(Dude(tte)) is currently at level 2.5. It is not worth to play it with the huge battery drainage (battery life is only about a hour with heavy usage on this very old used iPhone 4S and crashy (slow too!). :P

This time is in a major city...

... See here for many/32 screen (capture/shot)s during the slow street commutes in Los Angeles (L.A.). Oops, this crashy (like 20 times!) and slow game is addicting even during the very slow and long street city drive commutes. This game kept crashing like fifty/50 times on this very old, slow, and hot iPhone 4s. Apple iOS v9.3.4 even automatically shut down with just 10% battery (original since bought in store and in low power mode) juice left. Couldn't it just wait until about 2% at least and a few more minutes before hitting the freeway? :( At least, this ant got many balls, a few eggs, a creature (others were missed due to their distances and crashes), a level up (#3 now), etc.

Oh, this very old smartphone is unsupported. :(

This support web page says the game doesn't support the very old iPhone 4S even though the app and runs OK.

It gets worse!

Major slow downs and crashes can happen during the map screens. Definitely crashes when trying to catch the creatures. :( Oh well, this old ant will just watch the darn map and visit the stops.
