CBS News mentions CrimeReports that was launched last year and expanding nationwide. It overlays police reports on maps so people can view where arrests and other police calls have been made. Users can even configure e-mail alerts to notify them of crimes in locations of interest within a day.

Hmmph, too many registered sexual offenders in my areas. :(

Crime Mapping

Crime Mapping is similiar and more updated for Los Angeles/L.A. areas.
